Smart Paste

Smart Paste reads copied text, extracts structured values, and fills the matching fields of a new record.

Typical sources include business cards, email signatures, addresses, and meeting notes.

Enable it

Select the required entities under Administration > AI Settings > General > Smart Paste Scopes. Leave the field empty to allow all customizable entities.

Use it

  1. Copy the source text.
  2. Click Smart Paste from a list, relationship panel, or new-record form.
  3. Allow the browser to read the clipboard.
  4. Review the populated form.
  5. Correct the values and save normally.

On a list or relationship panel, Smart Paste opens a prefilled create form. On an unsaved create form, it fills that form directly.

Smart Paste works best with text, email, phone, number, date, enum, boolean, and address fields. Complex relationships and ambiguous values may require manual correction.

The user needs AI, AI Smart Paste, and normal create or edit access.
